Trips to the Amazon Basin fisheries are very cost effective.  When you evaluate the cost of a trip, be sure to compare it to other international fishing destinations -- you will be pleasantly surprised!! Remember: trips last seven days (6 to 6 ½ days fishing time); all food, drinks and daily laundry service are included; depending on your flight schedules to/from Manaus, a five star hotel night can be included; and finally, airfares from Miami or Atlanta to Manaus are significantly less expensive than to other international destinations.  In short, calculate alternative destination prices equally and you will see that the Amazon Basin Peacock Bass trips provide real value for an exceptional experience!!

Matupiri & Igapo Acu Tributaries

Black Water Explorer Yacht Trips: Starting in September through end of October, when the water levels drop in the Madeira Basin, we begin the Amazon Peacock Bass season.
All trips are on the shallow draft BLACK WATER EXPLORER yacht with private cabins / bath and a central dining area.
The fishery is within a limited access Amazon Indian Reservation and as a result, fishing pressure is extremely low and hook-up levels are high with many peacocks in the
13-20 lb category.

Black Water Explorer Yacht Trips: As the water levels drop, the Black Water Explorer moves into the northern black water basin and locates the highest productive fishing areas.
You can expect to move every couple of days as the yacht positions itself to explore numerous highly productive lagoons – hence, the fishing pressure is low and hook-up levels high.

The schedule for these float plane access camps is currently being finalized for the Fall 2010/Winter 2011 schedule. We expect trip dates to be available June 2010. The following schedule shows the river locations for the camps during
specific months.

These float plane only access camps offer a truly exceptional experience for the fishing enthusiast willing to accept a very comfortable, but basic camp setting. These trips are truly into very remote areas and the Exploratory Trip takes a small group (6 max) to an area that has never been fished before. The Multi Species and in Safari Tent Style trips are return trips to locations that were previous Exploratory Trips.
